Verify a chart
Every Sunday at 11:59 PM Mountain Time each weekly chart freezes. We write the final standings to a CSV file (rank, entry, artist, title, genre, AI tag, score, voters, and how many votes were held or voided) and compute its SHA-256 fingerprint. Change one character and the fingerprint changes completely.
We then record that fingerprint in a transaction memo on the XRP Ledger test network. A validated XRP Ledger transaction can't be edited later, so anyone can check that a published chart is the same one we froze.
Check it yourself
- Open a frozen chart below and tap Download CSV.
- Hash it: on a Mac or Linux run
shasum -a 256 file.csv, on Windowscertutil -hashfile file.csv SHA256, or use the checker on the chart page (it runs in your browser and uploads nothing). - Compare it with the fingerprint on the page, then open the linked XRPL transaction in any explorer. Hex-decode its
MemoData: you'll see{"c":"overall","w":"2026-W41","h":"sha256:…","r":"rules-v1"}. Thehvalue should match too.
What this proves, and what it doesn't
- Proves: the published standings are exactly what was frozen, and weren't quietly edited after the ledger record was made.
- Doesn't prove: that every vote came from a real, independent person. That's the job of our fraud checks, which hold suspicious votes before the freeze. It also says nothing about who owns the music.
- Test network for now. We use the XRP Ledger testnet while CreatorMusic is new. The test network is public, but it can be reset, so it's a demonstration of the method, not a permanent archive. A move to the main network is a later step.
Licensing
Music licensing with ledger-recorded receipts is coming after legal review. Nothing is for sale, and we don't take pre-orders or deposits.
